From the moment The Flying Pancake Médoc was acquired, an extensive programme of renovation and interior design began. The farmhouse is still as solid as when it was built in ± 1890. The walls are 55 cm thick and keep the warmth in during the short winter, and keep the rooms cold in the long summer.
Our approach has been to blend contemporary elements and antique furniture from France, the UK and Bali. The Flying Pancake Médoc has a non-fussy elegance. The emphasis of the house is of an easy-going atmosphere, where guests are encouraged to relax in this fully equipped home and explore the local region.
Lay-out of The Flying Pancake
You enter the house in a spacious and equipped kitchen (stove, oven, fridge, espresso machine, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer) with antique fireplace and large dinner table, next to it is a large sitting room with a new fireplace, lounge sofa, desk, and also a toilet. The sitting room has doors opening to the terrace. There is a wireless internet connection that you can use.
Upstairs is a master bedroom with queen-size double bed, a children’s room with a bunk bed and a single bed, a second double bedroom and a bathroom with shower, sink and toilet. Bed-linen and towels are available.
French breakfast Service
Croissants and baguettes are delivered every morning. To complete your breakfast we offer Illy espresso coffee, Revolution Tea, jam and honey.
